Spotlight On: Olde Town Arvada

When someone mentions "Arvada", one of Denver's suburbs, the words hip or urban don't exactly come to mind. But if you haven't taken time or interest to explore or potentially buy a home in this charming neighborhood, think again. Just eight miles northwest of Denver, Arvada offers a charming small town feel with a family friendly mix of housing, dining, shopping, and activities. Check out my guide here-
Olde Town Arvada- the variety of small business in Olde Town make for a fun day or afternoon. Olde Town offers shopping, dining, breweries, coffee shops, and more! Not to metntion the lightrail runs through Olde Town, so just a quick ride from Denver! Must check out spots are:
-School House Kitchen and Libations- this restaurant and bar, which was built inside the original 1882 Arvada schoolhouse, features over 1,100 types of whiskey and 50 types of beer, as well as a generous and diverse menu- make sure to try the bacon wrapped dates!
-Silver Vines Winery- Silver Vines makes and sells their own wine, as well as offers cheese plates, live music, a wine club, and makes a great event space.
-Charlie's Flybox Outdoor Store- This is your go to spot for anything fly fishing and for outdoor adventures and gear. They offer classes and fly fishing tutorials for every age.
-Flicks In The Square- Free and kid friendly movies offered every Friday night in August. Located in Olde Town Square.
-The Bluegrass Coffee and Bourbon Lounge- during the day they serve coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. At night, they feature live music, bourbon, and pizza!
-Homegrown Tap & Dough- with their second location, Homegrown serves great pizza and local beer.
Steuben's- this Denver staple serves classic American diner food with a twist and recently opened their second location right off Old Towne on Ralston Road and Wadsworth.
Don't forget about the Lightrail. You'll want to take the G Line north from Denver and it leaves about every 30 minutes.
